Senator Karnes moved to amend the bill on page one, section eleven, line nine by striking out “2017” and inserting in lieu thereof “2018”;

On page two, section eleven, lines eleven through twenty-four, by striking out all of subsection (d) and inserting in lieu thereof a new subsection, designated subsection (d), to read as follows:

(d) Prior to adopting academic standards, the West Virginia Board of Education shall allow West Virginia educators the opportunity to participate in the development of the academic standards.;

And,

On page two, section eleven, lines twenty-five and twenty-six, by striking out all of subsection (e) and inserting in lieu thereof a new subsection, designated subsection (e), to read as follows:

(e) The West Virginia Board of Education shall provide by rule for a cyclical review, by West Virginia educators, of any academic standards that are adopted by the board.
